About Us

When Dr. Robert Parker moved from Boston’s high-tech sector to Sitka in 1993, he found himself asking, “What do folks around here do for Internet?” The answer he got was, “The Internet? What’s that?” This led him to establish our company, which was initially named The Computer Center.
More than 30 years later, we've evolved and become Alaska Computer Center. We soon changed our name to Alaska Computer and Office Supply Center after expanding our business to include the sale of different office supplies. Later on, we became an authorized RadioShack dealer, prompting us to adopt our current name, Alaska Computer & Office Supply Center / RadioShack.

Our Mission

From the very beginning, our goal is to provide our customers with products and solutions that address their concerns. We offer even more than our name implies, although we had to stop adding to our name! When you step into our store, you’ll see why we describe ourselves as a “modern-day general store.”
Through long hours, hard work, and a commitment to paying close attention to our customers’ needs, we’ve become an essential, successful business in Southeast Alaska. The American Dream is very much alive.
